Digital Wallet Inc., Japan's No.1 global mobile remittance service, has partnered with Sacombank-SBR, a remittance service owned by one of Vietnam's largest banks, to donate aid money and supplies to the victims of Typhoon Noru, which struck Vietnam.
Typhoon Noru formed over the Philippine Sea and passed through Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam by the end of September 2022.
Central Vietnam suffered tragic consequences from this storm on September 28 last year, forcing more than 800,000 people to evacuate. Particularly, towns such as Hoa Son, Hoa Ban district, and Da Nang city were hit the hardest.

Smiles Mobile Remittance Vietnam and Sacombank-SBR, together with Smiles customers, made a donation to the “Hướng về miền Trung thân yêu (To Our Beloved Central Region)” charity fund.
As part of the donation program, Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman and General Director of Sacombank-SBR, first delivered 15 large relief packages containing rice and donated 2 million Vietnamese dong to households devastated by Typhoon Noru. Subsequently, the Smiles Vietnam team, Sacombank-SBR, and Smiles customers delivered additional relief supplies, bringing the total donation to 5 million Vietnamese dong.
Since 2018, Smiles Mobile Remittance has served as a strong partner of Sacombank-SBR, providing the best remittance experience for Vietnamese people sending money from Japan to Vietnam to support their loved ones back home.

When it comes to supporting the Vietnamese community, Smiles and SBR value the opportunity to work together. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa told Smiles, “We are fully committed to continuing to launch meaningful initiatives together.”
Smiles Mobile Remittance operates under the mission of “maintaining a peaceful and sustainable life for you and your loved ones through AI and fintech.” Based on this mission, Smiles aims to continue reaching out to communities suffering from hardship and natural disasters to make the world a better place.
